The Middle Eastern Law Enforcement Officers Association (MELOA) is a U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recognized association comprised of agents and officers from the DHS. Membership is open to all current, past and retired Department of Homeland Security Employees without regard to race, gender, color, creed, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age, marital status, political affiliation, disability status, or membership in a labor organization. Additionally, membership is open to DHS and DHS Component agency employees who maintain a non-LEO status.
MELOA is an tax exempt public charity under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501 (c) (3). Donors can deduct contributions under IRC Section 170. MELOA is also qualified to accept tax deductible bequests, devises transfer or gifts under Section 2055, 2106 or 2522.
Commitment to Community
MELOA's goal is to create positive interactions between law enforcement and the Middle Eastern community through outreach and mentorships, as well as providing assistance to local law enforcement agencies with language, cultural, and training support. MELOA will also focus efforts on charitable and humanitarian activities within and outside of our communities. MELOA remains committed to building trust through community engagement.
